The post-Maggie Island holiday period has certainly improved my productivity. The thesis is steadily compiling after a long period of stagnation. The cloud of indifference and confusion I had been held by has cleared, and I must admit it is gladly welcome. Despite these advances, the realisation that I still have a LOT of work to do is starting to sink in. As is the fact my supervisor is due back in the country on October 4th after a 6 month sabbatical in Sweden. I do dread our first meeting. Supervisors place the fear of dread in PhD students whether by intention, or student-based perception. Nonetheless, I need more writing and data to show her before her arrival. Hence, I am endeavouring to finish the largest chapter of my thesis (Chapter 4), and then move onto the final aspects.
So, by the end of September, Chapters 1 to 5 completed, with Chapters 6-8 on the way. October could be a very interesting month...
