Unlocked Apple iPhone on Beijing's Streets?

Beijing's electronic markets have already started to freely advertise unblocked Apple iPhones, apparently able to be used on any GSM phone network. This is starting to give me ideas. I wonder what the language support and any Apple updates are like on the cracked phone...?

Yeah, they're giving ridiculous prices for the 3G (ridiculously low actually) iPhones - something like 300 for an unlocked 16gb, etc. If you're lucky enough to have one in Beijing, check out the Beijing Taxi Guide on the App Store, it has like 1000+ addresses in chinese, so you can just search in english and get to the places you want. Sweet!
