I'm a little enthusiastic right now about photography. I'm starting to research the Digital SLR market, thinking about a new purchase (any suggestions people?). I used to annoy most of my friends back in Australia when I whipped out my old Minolta SRT-1 (older than your's truly) and started to take photos. I left that camera back in Oz, and I have been regretting it ever since.

I've been surfing Flickr quite often lately, and I discovered another China-based photographer that takes some awesome images. Their pseudonym is Chinapix, and here's a small selection of what they can produce (c/o a phpFlickr script).

      Update: 15th of May, 2006.

Please note that I've edited the original entry to this version. I made a huge error in attributing these images to another photographer. These images are the work of a great artist, Chinapix, whose images can be viewed on Flickr. My error was simply a mistake of Control-C and Control-V'ing the wrong hyperlink during a late-night Flickr drool-fest. No offense intended, hope none was taken.

Regards, Tim

Hi, I am the photographer who took the above photos and my name isn't Natalie Behring. I prefer to keep my name anonymous but don't really like my work being referred as belonging to someone else. Could you please change the name to "Chinapix" which is my Flickr username. Thanks.

        Sure. No problem Chinapix.

To make it clear for other fans, and that you're actually Chinapix (or NB for future reference), I'd suggest changing your profile on Flickr first.

Once that's done, I'll swap the names over. Whatdy'a reckon???

Thanks Tim. The changes are appreciated. I see where the confusion came from as Natalie Behring also uses Chinapix in her web address for her Flickr photos. I was unaware of this when I chose the name.

hi i'm tom from austria currently on a longer vaction in la, as far as dSLR stuff goes, i'd recommend a canon eos 350d, or if your not that tight on your budget, a 20d - yes, the 30d just came out some months ago but the main advantage over the 20 is only the bigger lcd - which nontheless is still not enough to really review the picture - the display to me rather serves the purpose to get an idea of the right exposure. anyways, be aware that the actual camera body has not that great impact as the lenses u're using - afterall, all three cameras are driven by the digic 2 processor. so rather invest ur bugs in some better lenses. i chose the 20d over the digital rebel because it's body is made of some magnesium alloy instead of some cheap piece of plastic, so it's got a much better look and feel and is more robust. in case u're travelling a lot u'll defintely appreciate that. - nikon is also fine but canon has a wider range of lenses. but okay, nikon vs. canon is defintely beyond the scope.
hope that was not too much for now,
